Cody Gakpo has addressed rumours linking him with a move away from Liverpool amid reported interest from Bayern Munich.

The 26-year-old Netherlands international joined Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and is under contract until 2028.

Since arriving at Anfield, Gakpo has steadily grown into an important figure — especially under fellow Dutchman Arne Slot.

When asked about Bayern Munich’s reported interest ahead of international fixtures, Gakpo said (quotes via Goal), “I haven’t heard anything about it myself.”

Maybe my agent has heard something, but I’m focusing on myself.”

The 2024–25 campaign was Gakpo’s best season in a Liverpool shirt.

Restored to his preferred role on the left wing, Gakpo looked more confident and consistent, playing a key role in Liverpool’s title-winning run.

Cody Gakpo also spoke about Jeremie Frimpong’s recent move to Liverpool, following the defender’s £29.5 million switch earlier this month.

The pair are currently on international duty with the Netherlands, and Gakpo was quick to highlight what Frimpong brings to the squad.

“For us, Jeremie is a very good addition.

But also because of his position, because Trent is no longer with us.”

His remarks underline both Frimpong’s attributes and the significance of filling a key gap in the squad.
